Mexican Slum Rats Pittsburgh Concert reviews
Jill Scott, You're Too Classy For that Opening Act
The opening act was a Spoken Word "Artist", starting the show very late on a Tuesday night. I am a Christian, but if I was one of the parents who thought it would be a good idea to bring my child, I would've been furious. Mexican Slum Rats came out before I almost walked out due to the appalling performance by the spoken word "artist", who mixed praises to God with raunchy content and nonstop profanity. The blasphemy for entertainment value was unacceptable, regardless of one's beliefs. The classy nature of Mexican Slum Rats was overshadowed by this. The boomy and muffled sound in the upper-mezzanine seating was a great disservice. The vocals couldn't be emphasized properly, making it hard to hear the lyrics.
